It’s a fact that parts of commercial spaces (like floors and walls) are not practical to update often. These elements have to strike a balance between trendy and timeless in order to stay relevant as well as stand the test of time. And they must be durable and easy to maintain as well. While ceramic tile can answer to all these requirements and more, it’s important to know what’s hot and what’s not in tile design. Here’s a look four big tile trends can we look forward to in the coming year.

Beige

Beige is back! This classic neutral hue for interiors is feeling new, warm, and sophisticated again. The return of the color as a favorite neutral has also spilled over into tile, too. This color offers a good transition from the gray tones that have dominated in recent years. Beige’s versatility and ability to blend with other staple colors makes it a good bridge as popular palettes trend warmer.

3D Textured Surfaces

While three-dimensional tiles are not exactly new to the industry, advancements in tile production technology have brought more innovative and exciting 3D tiles, allowing designers to explore a wider variety of sculpted ceramic surfacing.

Big & Thin

The trend for large-format, thin porcelain panels (also called large porcelain panels or thin porcelain panels) began a few years ago, but it promises to be huge in 2019. These tiles allow for minimal grout joints, ideal for contemporary and minimalist style interiors. Since the panels are super thin (just a quarter-inch thick), they can be used on walls and other vertical surfaces without worries about the weight. Thin porcelain panels can also be used for floors, countertops, and many other surfacing applications. Because of the large size, you can cover a lot of territory with one panel, and when renovating, these panels can often be laid over existing tile.

Bold Geometrics

Geometrics are so timeless. Using geometric shapes in design is not just a contemporary trend; it is one that has endured throughout history. But the coming year points to a trend toward geometrics that are bigger and bolder in design.
