Thirteen years ago, GIO started in a converted railroad warehouse in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. Track One — built in 1924 as a feed and seed depot for the Nashville Decatur Railroad — had become home to a community of artisan-entrepreneurs rethinking how things get made and sold. It felt like the right place to rethink how tile gets specified.
The premise was simple. Architects and designers working on commercial projects deserved a better resource — not a bigger catalog, but a more intentional one. Too much of the industry was organized around what manufacturers wanted to sell, not what specifiers actually needed to find. We set out to close that gap.
Every collection in our library has been sourced directly from manufacturers we know and trust, selected specifically for the demands of commercial specification. We don't carry everything. We carry what works — porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, glass, and metal, in looks ranging from marble and wood to concrete and terrazzo. Over 130 collections, each with the technical documentation, sizing options, and finish data you need to spec with confidence.
We think about the process the way you do: material first, then performance, then logistics. Our collections are organized by look, style, surface, and size type because that's how design decisions actually get made — not by SKU number. Field tile to pavers, bullnose to cove base, mosaics to panels, all in one place with the specs to back them up.
From our design center in Nashville's Design District to projects across the Southeast, we work directly with A&D firms specifying for hospitality, healthcare, retail, restaurant, and corporate environments. When you're ready to move from selection to fulfillment, we handle it with the same care we put into curation — samples, logistics, and the technical support your project requires.
Thirteen years in, we're still a focused team doing one thing well. The industry hasn't gotten simpler, but we believe the specification process can be. If you're designing a space that matters, we'd like to be part of the conversation.
