And lots and lots of architecture and interiors.
Instagram, which launched in 2010 back when mobile was the next big thing, was based on the idea to make mobile photographs simple, beautiful, and fast. The easy-to-use app quickly became popular, boasting over 30 million users in less than two years. It did not take long for businesses, including interior designers and those in design-related fields (manufacturers, distributors, retailers and the like), to discover that Instagram was a match made in heaven. What better way to show off your talents and goods?
GIO hopped on the Instagram bandwagon back in the summer of 2014, just a few months after the official launch of our business. Nearly a thousand posts later, we thought it would be fun to look back on the past three years to discover our most popular Instagrams to date. Here’s a look at our top 10 most popular Instagram posts of all time.
#1 Pennyround
These samples from our Geometry Options collection took the number one spot on Instagram in Spring of this year. We were a little surprised at first since it’s not what we call a “room scene,” but evidently the shape and colors were a huge crowd-pleaser.

#2 Freestyle
A modern take on the classic subway tile, our Freestyle in a mixture of bright and matte in Dove Grey was an Instagram winner, proving that it’s often a new twist given to the “expected” that makes classic designs endure.

#3 Chateau
Instagrammers seem to love old things and our Chateau, inspired by stone paths of centuries old French vineyards, hit the mark.

#4 Paintwood #selfeet
Was it the shoes or was it the reclaimed look of our Paintwood in the colorful Vintage colorway? We’ll never know.

#5 GIO Blocks
Our big format Blocks collection debuted last summer and received high acclaim on Instagram, proving that bigger is better and geometric patterns rule.

#6 GIO_Thin 5.5
The refined look of dramatically veined Statuary marble juxtaposed with industrial elements stole Instgrammers’ #industrialchic hearts.

#7 Moda
It’s no secret that Instagrammers love eye-candy, and our Moda wall tile in pink and orange was no exception.

#8 Vintage
Anything with a vintage look and feel is an instant hit on Instagram. Our Vintage tiles in Florentine did not disappoint.

#10 ARTÉ
Last, but definitely not least (because we are looking at almost 1000 posts after all), is sleek Arté. Was it the moody black on black that appealed to Instagrammers? Or was it the three-dimensional shape of these sleek subway tiles? We think it was probably both.

We hope you enjoyed this look back on our most liked photos. If you would like to see our latest and greatest in your Insta-feed, be sure to follow us @giotle!
